Sound Deadener Install

It cost around $64 with shipping for 20 square feet. It is very high-quality stuff. It's made of butyl rubber, so it adheres very well, and doesn't give off any smell at all, unlike asphalt based deadener.
It doesn't deaden the gear whine as well as I hoped, but it did make a noticeable difference, it's possibly quiet enough now that the wife will ride in the car with me.
On to the pics:
Here's the deadener itself. It comes in 12"x24" rectangles. I cut them down to 12" squares to make working with them easier.

I used a wooden hand roller I found in the Lowe's wallpaper section. It was $7. It worked really well for rolling this stuff down. The rounded handle worked well for smoothing tight spots.

Here's the install, in various stages. I did several double layers at different spots on the tunnel. I also did the bottoms of the rear seats.

If someone were looking for something for a stereo install, this would be the stuff. Easy to install, easy to work into tight spots, no smell.

Questions and comments are welcome.

It's a little unwieldy to actually pull the carpet out by yourself, but if you fold it right, you can get it out just fine.
