Shifter Boot & Ring - 17997789

I have a broken shifter boot retaining ring and my local GM dealer is having difficulties locating a replacement. I am looking for any OEM or replacing retaining ring for a 6-speed manual transmission on a 1994 Trans Am. If anyone has a recommendation on where I may be able to purchase one, i would appreciate it. Going on 1-year broken now.

Here's a link redline goods has brackets for 93-97 as well as 98-02 for $19.00
Looking at the bracket it looks like one could be made if you have patients to work and shape a coat hanger into a bracket but 20 bucks doesn't seem like a bad price.
