Default Going to order clay bar/porter cable kit

Well my mom decided that she would be nice and get me this for my birthday, now i want to make sure what i'm getting is what you guys would reccomend for starters...at this price. My main goal is to get rid of all the swirls on my car, as well as a good buff/polish and a wax.

Tropi care seems to have the best prices and stuff so i think i'm going to order it there. I already have some applicator pads/polish for the hand stuff, so i just need the supplies for the Porter Cable. So far i have the Clay Magic clay bar kit and the PC complete buffing kit (the 169$ one) which includes the backing plate and the white, blue, and orange pads and the microfiber towels. Is there anything else you guys would suggest i pick up? i want to do a complete clay/buff/wax job on my car, basically try to make it look new again, theres a lot of swirls and stuff i'd like to remove. Appreciate the help.

Check out the meguiars web site. www.meguiarsonline.com They have classes on how to use the PC that go to local area's. Also some good detailing advice in there as well a video's on how to get started and what Meg's products to use. You can get the PC cheap on ebay. I got mine for $70 new in the box.

Meguiars you use the 8006 pads & compoung #83 first, then #80 (finer) then wax. After washing & clay bar of course.

The Menzerna Intensive Polish (IP)and Super Intensive Polish (SIP) are both rated to remove 2000 grit and finer sand scratches from the finish. You can't go wrong with either choice using orange and white pads. The SIP was created for use on the harder cerami-clear coated surfaces such as Mercedes and others. It will work a little bit faster than than the IP. Both finish down very nicely with no micro-marring. After using this product, you can go straight to last step protection such as non-abrasive sealants or wax.

When working on darker colors, an optional pass with Swirl Cutter after Menzerna makes for an impressive result.

For more stubborn scratches down to 1000 grit, the Menzerna Power Gloss (PG) and yellow foam buffing pad is your choice.

And i'm assuming when going from product to product, such as if i were to go from the IP to the swirl cutter, i would want to do a wash/dry before each, correct? What pad should i use the swirl cutter with?

Right now i have the Menzerna Polish, clay magic kit, and the 169$ porter cable kit in my cart, as well as one of those oval hand polish applicators. Should this be good? I really just want to make sure before i go ahead and order..

correct. just make sure you use a clean pad for each different product.

you can do a isopropyl alcohol solution (50/50 with DI water) wipe down prior to your LSP if you wish.

Use Gipraw's recommendations for pad usage and IPA wipedown.

For the Swirl Cutter after IP, you can use the orange and/or white foam pads.

When you're ready to apply your last step protection product, you can use thelightly moistened blue foam pad to apply product such our our TC-2 Liquid Wax or TC-3 Sealant xP.

With a PC its really hard to F up the paint. Just tape off your plastics/rubber and go to town. Take your time... a lot of people move to fast with a PC.... you gotta work it in slowly.

Even a caveman could do it.
