Cleaning Engine

After you have cleaned the bay--what do you guys use to detail it..the black parts I am talking about....In the past I have used a little Tire Dressing....anything better--or does it really matter...seems to work fine wire stuff.....[and yes I read a million search posts already]

Most probably do--I looked at some engine detail spray and it was the same basically as the tire stuff.Some have used WD40 on it...I don't know about that though....

Water based tire shine is what I use on the intake, the rest is metal on mine so I just clean it with soap and water.

I use CD2 Engine Detailer. Works really good. The only thing I hate is that I cannot find it in any stores, PepBoys, Advance Auto, Auto Zone, Wallmart. The shine last for a long time and I get no dust because of it, AND MINE IS A d/d, so I don't want a dust magnet.

Ive always had the best of luck detailing black plastic and hoses, etc.. with Jax Wax Blue.. Its the best when it comes to tires, (dont flip up crap on your car) and under the hood it does awesome and stuff stays black n wet looking for a long time.. cost is around 24 dollars for a gallon jug...
