I like sleepers. I want to try to catch some people off guard this summer. I have 93-96 style tails, SLP 2OTL exhaust, and I'm going to put my salad shooters on and see if I can go mess with some people. They will probably just think its a stock LT1 from behind, or maybe a v6 Camaro.

I really like sleepers. For everyone talking about Formulas or debadged z28s, I wouldn't truly consider any fbody a real sleeper. Don't get me wrong, I love them, and you could certainly fool average Joe and anyone who has bought into 'Hemi' marketing. To me though, real sleepers come from past days of street racing and hustling. True, it's hard to hide a blower or turbos if someone looks under your hood, but spray lines and cubes aren't always as easily identifiable. I remember a thread in the lounge a few years ago about racing stories and how people would run higher idle rpms to cover up cams and cubes in their rusty 70's bodies and old 16" wheels, etc. The concept of a sleeper is obviously to fool, and I think I'd get a lot more satisfaction out of fooling someone who is 'in the know' than average Joe; the more knowledgeable person you trick, the greater the reward. The goal of a real sleeper is to fool the guy you're racing against, not a soccer mom who has been propagandized to believe Hemi-hype or that sharp body lines mean a car is fast. Just my .02

Once I'm done with my car it should be the definition of a sleeper..

Regal GS's are the same way.

I think it depends on the car... If it is a clean E30 that is fast as hell, yeah thats awesome... If it an SS that took off there badges on purpose to look like a 6, than not so much..

I love my 600+RWHP V6 camaro. No one ever believes it's a V6. I get a kick out of it all the time.

I like my 4dr sleeper. The main thing I like in a car is that it's clean. 10's, great but if it looks like *** then not so much.

sleepers rock. I love the look on peoples faces when I race them or when they hear me get in it. But I also like the muscle car with the cam that says GTFO don't mess with me lol.

I think a great sleeper for killing ricers would be a buick roadmaster sedan or wagon.

LT1 (good aftermarket ) n2o
4L60E (can be swapped for 4L80E or TH400/350 or built up)
Solid axle, the good 10bolt
Rear has ample room for tubs, mini-tubs and used widened stock rims and hubcaps
Ample room for multiple mufflers, resonators, etc.
Tons of stuff to take out, drop weight
Stupid *** looks

I think it would be awesome to roll up in the dumpy old Roadmaster and beat the crap out of all the lil rice boys and take their money.

Always liked sleepers. You don't need to flaunt what you have, or in most cases with people outside of the musclecar community, flaunt what they don't have.

In fact I think it's time for a nap now anyways...

Im all for sleepers, but do it right....I saw a LS1 Z28 Camaro, he had it debadged and still the entire stock look just with an exhaust system yet for some odd reason. He left the "Bowtie" on the back panel??? lol

I like the sleeper look.
Does this look like a car that runs mid 9's on motor?

I took mine out to the local skreet races last weekend, and got asked twice if it was a V6. It's debadged with Z06ers all around. I figured the rattle from the full exhaust was a dead giveaway, but I guess not.

I just answered "yes" on both occasions
