Maybe it's not the product, but the application. If you're just spraying it on, chances are good it will sling. You have to distribute it evenly and get off the excess. For that, I recommend a tire applicator.

Something like this:

I agree. Sling usually happens because of the way the product is applied. I've learned how to apply the product and sling is not an issue. But all my friends i let use my tire shine always have it all over the car. Damn rookies LOL

For any tire gel or liquid, make sure to remove the excess which accumulates in the edge of treads that meet with the sidewall.

any thing silicone will stay wet and sling imo.
i like water based dressings like they have at tropi care or zaino tire shine.
the water based ones dry and dont sling off to much or at all once you learn to apply them. aplication is key with any dressing and i have tryed just about all the store baught dressings and they all sling. im hate when that happens especialy on my black benz because it shows really bad on black cars and also on white. looks like little black spots.
your better of ordering some from tropicare with an aplicator.

Stoner "More Shine" is what I use and we used it at the dealership I worked at too....awesome stuff, spray it...let dry for maybe 5 min. and its ready to go!

water-based stuff works very well too!

I use the same Aerospace 303 that I use on the interior. Apply and let sit for 5 minutes then wipe extra off. It's not a real wet look, but it does last a long time with no sling.

Get an applicator pad. Should solve the problem.

I always go back over it with an old sock or somethin to wipe off any excess. It makes it a little less glossy too but thats a good thing IMO.

I just did my tires forthe first time the other day. I used some Turtle Wax stuff I picked up at the dollar store, I figured it was worth a shot. I sprayed it onto a Eagle One tire sponge (best 2.50 you can spend!), and applied it that way. It came out very good.

Not extremely glossy, I don't like that wet, "gelled" look, but a nice shine with NO sling that still looks like I just applied it even after driving through a rainstorm today.

The biggest problem i see is that people wash there cars but dont really wash there tires full of tire shine...
then they put more and more...making a lot of layers of it then it causes sling
what i do is use any liquid spray on a rag and rub it in..
it takes off the dirt and the old tire shine and leave it with a nice shine that doesnt sling.

First make sure you've cleaned the tires well. I always use Bleche-Wite spray (do not get this on the rims) and a stiff brush. Then apply a small amount of Adam's VRT (my favorite) or Zaino Z-16 (great alternative) to a dry tire.

Stick with whitish water based tire dressings. Tropicare non silicone dressing is good as well.
