Cleanning tt2's how do you guys clean them my car has sat for over a year so the whole car is a mess i started a full detail today and couldnt really get these rims to shine up i was using the power ball and mothers billit aluminum polish what do you guys recomened
Honestly, I have a secret weapon I get from a friend of my father's who works at a GM dealership... They actually use a type of acid on glass and aluminum wheels! I am not sure what type of acid it is but it is insane when my wheels are dirty and i want to shine them to like new. After i use it, i hit them with a light polish and they look like brand new!
I wet the wheels before i spray acid on them, after one has been sprayed i simply whipe it in a timely manner as to not let it eat at the wheel?? (have used many times and had no such incident) then spray off very very well to be sure to not leave any acid residue on them. i do one wheel at a time also for time sake. It works awesome! but i am not really recommending anyone try anything as abrasive as acid. If anyone really wants to know pm me and I will try to find out just what type of acid it is and perhaps you can test it on some other aluminum first.
I know some people reading this will probably be in shock.. LMAO. If you saw you'd believe though.

You might have to wetsand them to get them looking good again. Not difficult, just takes time. Mine sat for over a year and looked bad. But after wetsanding them with 800,1000,1500,2000 and then polishing them, they look new again.

wet sanding is only required if you they have managed to get stuff on them that the mother's billet polish won't take off. salt pitting for example.
I use mother's billet on the mothers' powerball for my prostars which is the same thing as your uncleared TT2's. best invention ever. what used to take me 15 minutes per wheel with a polishing cloth now takes 5 minutes with the powerball and they look awesome. i do it every time i wash the car..
just be sure to wash them really good with soapy water and a sponge. you don't want to start hitting them with any kind of compound if there's any contaminates left on the surface, they will turn that powerball or rag into a sander and then you'll be wetsanding to fit it for sure..

I use wheel acid to clean them, then this stuff called PPC Easy Aluminum Polish, my dad picked it up at a truck stop and ITS AWESOME
