Cleaning Underneath What is the best method for cleaning the underside of your car? Mine is nasty from 17,000 miles worth of driving in all weather conditions, and up north too (car was originally an ohio car). I hate how it looks now and some parts even have rust on them. any suggestions? I don't have acess to a lift. And while we're on the subject - where is the place that you do not want to lift from so as not to bend the cars bodywork??

Re: Cleaning Underneath well i would say go to a car wash with the wands you can reach under it with, thats what i was thinking about doing, just havent gotten around to it yet. or u can dig a huge hole in your yard, fill it with soap and water and drive through it and rinse it off, im sure that would work but i wouldnt try it lol but seriously i would go to the car wash becuase they have high pressure water too
Re: Cleaning Underneath If you go to (www.installuniversity.com) they actually have a section on proper lifting of your fbody! That way you can look profesional if people are watching you the first time you attempt jack stands 
Re: Cleaning Underneath If you get the car up on jackstands, you might be amazed at how much room you have to work. Then get some Simple Green, etc...and wipe away. If you don't mind getting soaked, you could probably use a garden hose or pressure washer under there...just my .02 
Re: Cleaning Underneath I purchased two of those plastic ramps at AutoZone, went to the spray bay late at night, drove the car on the ramps and sprayed Simple Green everywhere, let it sit for a few minutes then sprayed it off.
It's a paint without getting soaking wet but the end results are pretty nice....
