opinions on ROLLBARS
OK, here's the deal. I want a rollbar, mostly for looks and to stiffen up the chassis. I really don't want the hassle of welding one in, What's everyones opinion on boltins?? I've seen kennybrowns and wolfecrafts, but i just got the new S&W racing catalog and they have 6point boltin with swingout sidebars for only $475. it looks really tempting!!!

Re: opinions on ROLLBARS
I have one from Kirk racing Products that is a bolt in autocross style bar. I love it and it is really intimidating. The only thing is that it comes pretty close to your head, so I removed it for street use, and I will reinstall it when I start autocrossing. It does stiffen up the car a bit, but it does add road noise.

Re: opinions on ROLLBARS
I saw BradWS6's S&W 6-pt. cage in Bowling Green, and I REALLY liked it! I'd get one of those over the Wolfe. Don't get me wrong; my bolt-in Wolfe fit great in my T/A, but I didn't like having to cut into the rear panels. Considering you get a swing-out sidebar, I'd get the bolt-in S&W!

Actually, BradWS6 has a custom bent chromoly 6 pt cage from Alston Racing. I have the same one only with two more points.
I do not like the Wolfe bolt-in because you have to hack up your rear speakers.
Also check out Autopower they make a 4 pt bolt-in. I think they supply RK Sport.

That just goes to show that my memory isn't worth a crap. Well, his Alston cage looked AWESOME!

For roadracing...
Most 4 pt roadracing bars are thinner diameter tubing than NHRA/IHRA standards as well.

BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Sorry, wrong answer. NHRA rules require a 5 pt. cage to the same design specs as used in 11.99 cars. (Unless it changed this year) I believe, but am not certain, that IHRA also requires a 5 pt, but that's what I was told; but I haven't read their rules.
Once you have a cage, you are supposed to have a harness too, atleast that is what I was told at a IHRA track before I got my harness.
FWIW, Mine's home made.

I have the wolfe racecraft and I love it. I opted for the bolt-in, which can always be welded in later on. I have the driver and passenger swingouts. Here is a picture of it with the rear hatch open.
