More PROJECT RETRO Pics (Aug 31st) Haven't done so much of the stuff that shows up well in pictures over the last few days. Been struggling with the relocation of all the wiring to get it out of sight. What a PITA. I went ahead and dropped the shortblock in the car:
I should have done the coil reloaction first though. It was a pain trying to drill holes through the cowl with the short block in the car. Anyway, I set out to make some relocation brackets for the coils. First thing I did was cut and install some 1/4" threaded rod through the coils with nylon lock nuts to hold the coils fast:
Next I cut and bent some aluminum for a bracket:
Here is what the initial fit looked like:
And here are both after a little extra work. This pic does not show the tabs I made to mount the coils to the cowl. I just bent 4 pieces of the aluminum at 90 degrees and attached them to the sides of the brackets:

Re: More PROJECT RETRO Pics (Aug 31st) I mocked up the motor this afternoon to finish the wiring up. Looks like I will have to move the driver's side coils more toward the brake booster. They currently interfere with the fuel rail on that side. Glad I checked out everything. And BTW, Thanks for the compliments. It's what keeps you going through a long project
