More PROJECT RETRO Pics (Aug 31st)

I should have done the coil reloaction first though. It was a pain trying to drill holes through the cowl with the short block in the car. Anyway, I set out to make some relocation brackets for the coils. First thing I did was cut and install some 1/4" threaded rod through the coils with nylon lock nuts to hold the coils fast:

Next I cut and bent some aluminum for a bracket:

Here is what the initial fit looked like:

And here are both after a little extra work. This pic does not show the tabs I made to mount the coils to the cowl. I just bent 4 pieces of the aluminum at 90 degrees and attached them to the sides of the brackets:
