Default Brittle Racing Stripes Removal

Hey, so I started to take off the racing stripes that came on my '99 WS6 when I bought it a year ago, and I ran into a problem. I started off with a blow dryer, then moved to a heat gun, but the stripes turned out to be extremely easy to tear, and also the part I was pulling would just rip off at the point i was pulling up from. This made it impossible to keep pulling it off, because once it ripped off I had nothing to pull, and starting again was almost impossible. Basically I ended up with a big mess on the front were I started to take them off....

So I'm wondering if you guys know of any products that you can put on these stripes to make them come off easier? Or maybe just an idea for getting these things off in a minimal number of pieces...?

Any advice would be great!

How hot do i need to get it? Does it need to be ridiculously hot, or just hot? Can I hurt the paint by getting it too hot?

there is really nothing you can do. I had to try to get my hockey stripes when they were like that. It took me hours! aggravating!!
