Default Battery idea

I was looking around autozone and found a 12v 340cca tractor battery that came in at 18#, for $30. Just for kicks I weighted my stock battery and came in right at 32#. I figure it will take about 2# to make a simple custom hold down and for the short "adapter" cables I will need. The stock battery is rated at 525 cca. Not sure if I'm going to try it, but priced at $140 less than the dynabatt it sounds appealing. There would be about a 12# weight savings.

Sweet! If you get it to work let me know as I am also playing the weight savings game right now.

I used large plastic tie straps that weigh next to nothing to hold down my dynabatt. Save the 2 pounds =)

sounds like me Terry...been looking around at different batteries <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> 100+ bucks is a bit much considering I probably would only use it for race. Gets a little too cold here to test its ability to crank in the winter I think?
