Cleaning engine bay
Cleaning engine bay I'm going to be the proud owner of a 99 Trans Am by the end of this week. Car is super clean exterior and interior, but the previous owner didn't touch the engine bay. It's not in terrible shape, but it is pretty dusty and needs a good cleaning. I want this to be super clean all around. Any recommendations on the best way to get the engine bay all cleaned up and spiffy would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Cleaning engine bay If your paranoid, cover the eletrical parts with plastic sandwhich bags but for the most part, try not to use the pressure nozzle and most importantly, never spray the motor when it's really hot.
The soap/degreaser will bubble the paint on the fuel rails, EGR unit and other black painted metal .... major pain in the neck, doesn't look nice and it's a hassle to correct.
