tranny problems
tranny problems car is a odb1 car and ever time i leave the whole hard the car want shift from first to second i have to let off the gas for it to shift. if i ease out of the hole the car shifts fine or if it spinns. any one with any ideas. thanks a lot
Have you had the car tuned for the stall sounds like what some people call "stall wall"
Basically due to the slippage in the stall the RPM is higher and the MPH has not made it to the speed needed for the shift and so you hit the limiter and no shift.
At lower throttle you don't have as much slip in the converter and when the car spins the load on the converter actually drops also and the speed is attained faster at least from the PCMs perspective

wat needs to b done to a odb1 car as in tunning for a stall. the guy who changed my shift points said that he turned everything off that needed to b. but he may just b bullshiting me. im going to take it to another guy i just want to know wat to tell him to look for thanks .
Its a little more involved than turning things off. get with someone who does the early cars regularly I know alotta guys use pcm4less
