most car educated people DONT assume that, i havent heard that for awhile, or mabye they just havent run into a yanked car from a dig yet

they do have more parasitic loss in the drivetrain, so RWHP numbers are lower than the same engine with the same mods and a manual

Because most people race from a roll now a days where the auto isnt as strong. I've surprised a few people with my auto....

A few of the guys I hang around with, think my car is faster with the auto. No boost lost during shifts. Boost comes on faster with the auto, thats for sure.

Like kingc8r said, on the street most people race from a roll which puts autos at a disadvantage. Less RWHP, less gear and dead spots are not our friends. But go from a dig, especially at the track, and the advantage switches to the auto. Stalled ones anyway.
