anyone to determine slipping?
This weekend at the track I had been winding all the way through 3rd gear before hitting the end of the 1/4 mile. Looking over my log for the 15th or so time, I am counting that I only made it into 2nd before banging of the limiter.
I was told that with my 3.73s on 275/40/17 I should be good up to roughly 120+ mph (I was only trapping 108). As a result I was told to look into either my tranny or converter slipping.
The tranny is a FLT lvl5 with roughly 1k mi on it. Converter is a Yank ST-3500/2.5 with 25k+ since it was my DD for 4 years. During that the car saw the track less than 1x a month w/ 3 or 4 passes a time.
In June I had the engine forged and the tranny installed. When I was given the dyno graph the speedshop said that the dips at the end were because the converter kept locking/unlocking. The car drives/feels absolutely fine on the street.
Is there anyway I can scan (HPTuners) for the slippage? What is a slipping trans/verter supposed to feel like?
here is the link to my dyno graph

if you have the converter locked, you'll see if there's any unwanted slip.
if its unlocked, you're going to hit higher rpm at lower speeds just because the torque converter is made to slip more. in that case, you won't see 120+ and 110ish sounds about right.
I would agree with Bob There those numbers sound about right.
