Default Torque Management?

what exactly is torque management and why when its deleted from the PCM the car feels different and drives alot better?

The Torque management pulls a few degrees of timing on the shifts so to soften the shifts. I have had my TM "deleted" for about 5 yrs now with no adverse effects.

TM backs timing off when the tranny shifts which helps the clutches grab.The problem with tottally deleting it on a stock tranny is that you might burn the clutches down alot faster.When I tune a stock tranny I will delete 80% of TM and raise line pressure.Seems to help the tranny last a long life.

well i just got my tranny fully built with a stall so its no where near stock

Take it out then a lot of people do with no bad side effects to speak of.
