The Verdict Is In...
Got the car to the tuner today and had him adjust the misfire tables, as suggested. The Verdict - The converter locks and unlocks as it should now. I drove the car about 100 miles after the adjustment was made and all is well.
Thank you doesn't scratch the surface of my gratitude, but Thank you !

I put the MAF sensor back in mine after this seemingly fixed my problem and it started acting up again, so I'm back in SD mode with a new Edge 3000 stall in the mail. Has yours acted up since you posted that? If you do start to have problems just get rid of the MAF and run the car in SD because, for whatever reason, it seems to help dramatically and I know the MAF is used in torque calculations so it does have a strong impact on the way the computer handles it.

Do you know what values your tuner used? If the values are too high do you lose mis-fire detection capability? I'm having the same problem with a LQ9/4L80E. No codes displayed. If it is detecting a mis-fire, why isn't a code displayed?
