HP loss with TC ?

HP loss with TC ? How much HP do you lose when going to an inefficient converter like the vigilante 3200 with 2.5 STR ? The reason I'm asking is because how can a car dyno 308 HP and yet still run 12.8 in the 1/4. Obviously, the real HP is not showing up on the dyno. Is it about 10, 20, or 30 HP that a TC robs ?
Re: HP loss with TC ? Hehe.. I lost 4 rwhp with a Yank TP-4400 over the stock converter. Also lost 6 tenth's off my ET

Re: HP loss with TC ? Zoltan, as for a 308 hp car running 12.8 - that is a piece of cake. Look at WILWAXU's rwhp and the times he's running. From his website, he ran 12.07 with 314 rwhp.
The reason a convertered car can run so fast with such lower hp is because it is always running at the top of the powerband and never falls out of the power. The auto also shifts faster than any person can manually shift.
