Default Are there different stock converters?

Okay, my curiosity got the best of me. I just picked up a 99 A4, and when I was changing the oil I noticed through the little window on the bottom of the bellhousing that the converter is blue. I was under the impression that all the stock ones were that brown crappy color? I don't think it has ever been changed, the bolts still have the torque stripe from the factory. Anyone have any idea? I tried to get it to flash on the highway but I can't really tell.

I have seen those that you are talking about, but this is not painted like that, it looks more like its anodized.
