Default 4L80E Standalone computer question.

MY question is who makes the best one. I have a 98 ls1 F body and am going to put this 4l80E in it and I don't want to do a manual valvebody. I really don't want to do bs3 either. What are my options?

I use the HGM Compushift on my conversion builds. IMO it is the Best controller in the market. If you need one, I think I still have one at the shop.

I decided to go with HGM's Compushift. I think it's a solid product and it's pretty easy to install and tune (No laptop required.). But in the event you do have questions, they have excellent tech support.....If you get one, go ahead and spring for the display and the TPS harness.

Do you have a link to it and is it a plug and play setup?

I have a TCI control box with a Twistmachine paddle shifter setup controlling my 4L80E.

I heard the compushift is a good unit though.

Why not use the stock PCM?
Youc an mod your stock harness by re-pinning it at the trans from the 4L60E to the 4L80E and adding the 2 wires for the front speed sensor, then have someone at HPTuners change your OS to work with the 80, and tune it with HP Tuners.

That's what I am doing on the cars I do LSx conversions on.
