Tranny cooler question... After three years of my B&M cooler being on my car, I recently noticed that most people seem to use the top line of the factory cooler to splice into for the aftermarket units. Way back when I had a 700R4 in a Firebird, I was told that the bottom line was the return line thus I started always using the bottom line for aftermarket coolers.
But now it seems that the 4L60E uses the top line as the return line, but for three years I have been running the cooler of the bottom line. So my question is, how much cooling am I really loosing by going into the B&M trans cooler first, then the radiator, then back to the trans? Does it really re-heat the fluid that much going back into the radiator?
PS. I have a lower temp t-stat and modified fan settings, so the coolant is not nearly as hot as with a stock setup.
