Default Need Advice - Transmission Dilemma

Suggestions on what to do with the 4L60e...

Set up - It's a mild 383 and I expect ~420 to 430rwhp/430rwtq out of the set up. The 383 has high quality parts, and no short cuts. Shop that did the Grand Am racing LS1's did the machine work etc. Friend that builds/tunes engines for Nascar team will finished it this week. The rest of the set up is Yank 3200 & 10-bolt w/3.73's. Car will be about 3200 pounds.

The Use - The 91 RS is the daily driver, ~12,000 to 15,000 miles a year, street, a dyno day and ~two trips to the track a year. My friends say I'm easy on cars. My 99 T/A has 112,000 miles on it with 80,000 miles on the heads and cam set up & I've never broke anything. I do beat on cars but it's rare.

Background - The driveline came from a totaled WS6 with ~28,000 miles on it. The motor failed leak down. The prior sell didn't own up to the LS1 having a supercharger on it and a replacement piston in cylinder #7. The 4L60e came from the WS6. He claimed the 4L60E was solid just like the LS1 which wasn't. I have no idea what the real condition of the 4L60e.

Dilemma - Try the tranny as is? Worst thing would be the tranny goes and slips right? Then I have to pull it and rebuild.

Go with a stock rebuild + shift kit? I would have a good tranny to start with. The Question would be for how long?

Go with a Preforma Level 3, FLT Level 4 or similar or is that overkill in this case? My engine builder says that's overkill for what I will do with the car.

Project is on budget but money is tight. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

I would either go with what you have and see what happens or in our case consider a level 2 don't think your in the level 3 category at this time really
