Default transmission filter?

I've done a transmission flush at 15000 miles (4th year), and again at 23000 miles (6 years after the first flush). I currently have 25500 miles and just realized the flushes don't include changing the transmission filter. Should I change the filter now, or can I do it next time I change the fluid?

just do it next time you change the fluid. btw stop doing those tranny flushes they usually do more harm then good. just a fluid and filter change is all you ever need if you keep up with it

I think it was actually a "fluid exchange" rather than a "flush". It was the one where they hook the machine up to the transmission lines, suck out the old fluid and recirculate new fluid in at the same time until all the old fluid is out (I always thought it was a good idea since it takes care of the torque converter).

Since it didn't involve dropping the pan and changing the filter, I'll do the traditional fluid an filter change next time.

what you describe as a "fluid exchange" can mess up the tranny. just change the fluid and filter every 40-50k miles and your set.

There is no need to flush the tranny @ low miles like that, as said above, just change the fluid and filter every 30K and you will be fine.
