any suggestions on a good setup for putting it in the cooler return line? is there a fitting that should be used?

they have brass barbed ends at home depot that you can hook to a 1/8 T-block. thats what i did for my coolant temp sender.

Also, on my way home tonight, I run the car kinda hard through a long, curvy road and the trans temp got up to about 155*. So apparently the gauge is working properly. During normal driving it never gets over 125*, can't complain about that.
With a Fuddle 4000 behind a heads and cam motor my stock trans ran right around 145-155 normal on the street and my trans guy said that is normal that is should usually run just alittle cooler then water temp for normal driving. and at the track after a nice 2 gear burn out and a full pass it would get up to around 175-180 but cooled back down quickly.

If you use any type of brass in the cooler lines be sure the I.D is equal to the currentl lines. You do not want to obstruct you lube flow to the internal parts of the transsmission. Also watch that the sensor depth does not go to far in and restrict the flow.
