GM 4L60E or performance rebuild? *DELETED*
If you use stock style clutches (like FLP) that will not be an issue.
Also, the people you see breaking built 4L60Es usually have more than just a cam, headers, & stall (like you and me) and they go to the track often with sticky tires.
Fliud temp is another issue. If you can keep the temps under 200 (the farther under the better) your trans should live a long life. I have no problem keeping my temps in the 180s or less (even on HOT summer days) with a 16K cooler, lower fan settings, and a deeper trans pan.
I am confidant in the FLP trans to hold up to my setup for at least 40-50K miles, maybe more. I don't really drag race the car so it's mostly street miles.
