Default first trip to track w/PT4000

I went to the track last night with my PT4000, and to my surprise I could not get it to hook. I just recently swapped out my SS3600 for the 4000 expecting a gain. Well it ran the same spinning almost all of 1st and banging the rev limiter from 2-3. I am running Hoosier QTP 26-11.50/15 on a 10 inch rim. Over all I am happy with verter but now I need a taller tire, hopefully this fixes the probem.Any advice would be greatly appriciated.I flashed it the 1st run and ran 11.80@118, 2nd run launched at 3000 and ran 11.60@118, the last pass I walked it off past the 60ft and ran 11.90@118. The car also shifts into 4th right before the traps, is this because I am spinning or did the verter somehow change the shift points. Would a retune be in order.

You maybe shifting because of the higher shift extension sometimes causes the car to shift a little sooner. I'd have MTI bump the 3-4 shift by another 200 rpm (and 4 mph) and you'll be good to go.

Are you stalling it up? About as high as you can go before the tires start to spin on the line?

Have you tried lowering your tire pressure? Longer burn out? Are both tires spinning?

If all else fails dont hammer it right off the line...roll into it.

Applying more and more throttle, faster each pass until you find what your tires can handle on each given night at the track.

That verter your using is the baddest verter out there. It's gonna take some serious tire or some serious track traction to get it to STICK off the line.

That verters mid range is phenominal. Once you get it to hook off the line, a grin is going to be spread on your face like you wont believe.

My 60's are proof that verter works. Imagine your times with a good 60'.

Good luck.

Raughammer is right this verter rocks. I know if I can get some good traction and keep it from banging the limiter I will get some great times. As far as the shift extension, the needle stays in the red, which feels great to me. I just got some 28-10.50 ET Drags, so Friday we will see how they work. I will let you guys know, thanks for the advice.
