Tough time choosing a converter
Tough time choosing a converter I snagged a low mile 5.3l engine a while back to swap into my '84 Camaro. I've been collecting parts to build it up a little before I drop it in. My setup will be:
Victor Jr carb intake
750cfm Proform DP
MSD 6010
TSP224r
1.75" primary longtubes
PAC 1218's
Th350
3.23 rear
315/35/17 rear tire
Maybe a small nitrous shot at some point
Now I'm having troubles choosing a converter, mainly what stall to get. The guy who built my trans has a JW Performance 10" 3600 converter built for nitrous. Would a 3600 stall be too high for my combo? I searched around and can't really find anyone using my particular setup.

Are you building a street toy or plan on multiple trips to the track? Would you lean to better performance or better street manors? You mentioned the TH350 - non-lock up?

It'll mostly be street driven, but will see some track time (maybe 5-10 times a season). I'd like it to have ok street manners so it's not a total PITA to drive around town. If I had to choose, though, I think I'd go with a little more performance than better manners. The trans is a non-lock up, 9" tail TH350 with this street/strip rebuild kit from Pro-built, which includes a Trans-go shift kit.

I would suggest a converter in the 3400-3600 range as well. The Circle D "3C" should be perfect for you. It uses the C series stator which gives you good street manors and a nice flash when you get on it.

Also I would recomend a 3600.Go to our website and look at the SR series or the SST series.The SST series is alittle more aggresive(more for full competition) and the SR for street use. FTIconverters.com
