It went boom right off the line,pulled the pan at the shop and it looked like sprag gumbo. Still ran a 11.74@115 with a 1.61 60'. I think Ill crush my old best when the air gets here. Any way, tranny guru asked me if I run in OD or D and I told him OD and he said thats no good and to race it in D because it stronger that way. Any one know any thing about this?
as long as you dont hit 4th in od i dont really see a difference to be honest...maybe thats wrong but if you only hit the first 3 gears its not like your using anything different then if you put it in D.

If the selector is in D it applies the overrun clutch (designed to give you engine braking). With the overrun applied, it gives a little more support to the sprag while accelerating, helps prevent breakage.
