Today while coming home. My trans would not downshift into 1st when going WOT. It would only kick down into 2nd. Normally it will kick into first if going 25mph or slower. I tried multiple times ranging anywhere from 10mph to 25mph. But when coming to a stop light the trans will go into 1st and shift perfectly fine through the gears. Do you think this is a trans issue or what?

 

Check for codes both engine and transmission. Bad Throttle sensor or speed sensor could the problem.

 

okay i will check those monday at my shop.

 

Anyone have any other ideas to what else could be checked. I will drive it again today and see if it does it again.

 

Well if all the gears are there, I would say its not a trans issue but rather a sensor or tuning issue.IMO
