Hey guys, I have a couple questions.
I lost 3rd and 4th gear a couple days ago and am going to either need a rebuild or a new tranny. If I were to put a junkyard tranny in myself, can I do it in my garage with jackstands and hand tools? Does anyone know how much it would cost for a rebuild. Would I need anything else besides the transmission? I got a quote from a guy I know at a service station, and he said $1965+tax, I believe for a replacement and install. Only problem is, I don't have that much. I might be able to work out a payment plan, but the wife wants me to sell the car and get a new to me used car. I am trying to avoid that as much as possible. Thanks for your help.
