Four years ago I ran a TCI Streetfighter in the car I have now and it was in it for a week because it was too loose down low.

I told the builder of my current converter this, these two converters and that i DID NOT WANT A CONVERTER THAT WAS LOOSE DOWN LOW.
I'n fact I'm quite pissed off because this god damn thing drives EXACTLY like the TCI. LOOSE AS ****.

The answer, oh just pull the trans out for the 20th time and well give it another guess.
****, thinking about this is pissing me off.
This is why I always ask about primary use of car and explain about how the car is gonna act and do with a certan stall speed. Because it really is a matter more of preference than anything, I talk to guys everyday who on one side say a 4000 stall is so cool. Then others who have ever 3000 stalls and hate them for regular driving.
So I kinda ask alotta questions and dig alot into how they drive, where they drive and also of course see how much personal history they have with a stall before helping them make a choice on the speed.

That's the bottom line here. Old school tranny guys freak out at the stall speeds LSx gearheads run. Expect to hear it, but don't listen to it. And don't waste your time trying to convince him. Just tell him to install the part.

The old school street guys are used to making power down low and don't realize a mild H/C bolton ls1 will produce max tq around 4800 and thats what they need to see to be fast.. right on up to 68k-7k when the power stops carrying. That average LT1 is running outta breath soon after 5k and done by 62k so it just takes some getting used to for the old timers to adjust..

People get comfortable with what they know and all my buddies told me I was limiting myself and makng a huge mistake buying an 87 Fuel injection 302 Mustang Gt ( back in 86) over the earlier (85) carbed models because I was limiting myself with the FI. They thought big carbs and intakes and they could take me but NOOOOOOOO. I beat everyone of the earlier cars with just bolt ons... Ford had actually improved thier combo over the old Holley everbody loved and had grown up with but it took a while for it to get accepted...

A parallel here or do I need to take more meds Anyway I tried to tie it together.........Goin downstairs for the meds I guess..................

Sorry about the rant but hope you got my point.......

I don't know what you consider an old timer but I used to run my old 75 nova over 8000 rpm.
In fact I was trying to show an old friend how much this car changed since I was 16 years old running a 400 and M4 compared to 16 years later running a 1966 427 and RMVB th400 and did a power brake for two blocks on slicks. He asked me if I realized that it was at 8500 rpm just about the whole time. Sure didn't, just using the old timer ear tach, whats a rev limiter

And I might as well mention that yes, that was with the off the shelf tci street fighter that would pull damn hard at 1800 rpm even with a stall speed of around 3200.

I have a pro yank 3400 for sale i loved it. The converter feels stock till you give it more than 50% throttle i didn't loos any MPG. My car has a tune, fipk, qtp headers and free mods.
