Quick convertor questions
Quick convertor questions Im putting a v8 in my v6 fbody and have a TLBK converter at my disposal, I was wondering what the stall speed on this is? Also, I was suggested to try a Trailblzer SS converter, as its an inch smaller and should have a slightly higher stall speed. What are your thoughts?
I thought I seen a bit of info on here one time that showed the stock stall speeds for the converters, but I searched and searched and just cant seem to come up with it.
Anyone run a TBSS converter on there ls1? What does it stall? What did you pay for it? Did you encounter any issues?

^I can't imagine it would be much higher than an LS1 converter. If your going to pay for it, might as well just buy a Yank/Vig/Circle D and get it right the first time. Don't forget a cooler.
Doing some more searching, I guess people are using the I6 trailblazer converter NOT the TBSS. Does this bolt up to the ls series of motors without problems? What stall does it yield.
EDIT: The i6 TB converter can commonly be had for about a $100. And EVERYTHING is apart now, just waiting on this stuff to put the motor/trans back in.

The TBSS converter is basically the same as the converter in the LS's cars. You are correct, it is the TB I6 converter that is smaller, 11" vs 12". I sell a modified version of the TB. I use a HD clutch, tig weld, and HD bearings. Up the stall to 3000-3200. They make a great replacment for a street car. Here is a link.
