Default Lock up on 2-3 shift?

Im wondering in a 98 formula with 4.10's tranny mods Trans go hd-2 kit 3700 stall and a MVB if i can lock up the verter in second and not unlock it for the 3rd shift.

I would not suggest shifting any trans with the converter locked. This can be very hard on the transmissions internal components. Vince

Even tho im well past the flash of the converter? You guys know more than me.

If not.... I have a manual lockup switch should i lock it up and then unlock for 2-3 then lock it back ?

I agree with Vince never lock during a shift. Its like hitting the trans with a sledgehammer.
You can turn the lockup off and on between shifts but the real question is why would you want to lock like that, The car unless the stall was badly chosen will be much faster unlocked. Thats what gives the auto the advanatage over the manual trans the torque multiplication of the converter.

After the middle of second gear with 4.10's you think an unlocked converter is faster?

In most cases yes now some people gain a little locking at the top of 3rd but if you need to lock before that you may have chosen to loose a converter.
Anyway you look at it though its dangerous to lock anyhwere near a shift with a switch since if you miss it could spell disaster-Trans/converter/drive shaft/rear end.
