Default Anyone have experience with the PT4600

Ordered the G5X2 today and I'm going to be upgrading my 3600 midwest converter to a PT4600. Just wondering if anyone here is running that converter and can give me any thoughts on it. I'm going to be meeting someone here in the next couple of days to drive his car with the original G5 cam and the PT4600 to see how i like the converter.

It is merely the single most awesome race converter made for a stock CI LS1, IMO. It's good for 1.3 60 fts with the right setup and is unsurpassed in terms of trap speed.

It's not the most streetable converter, that's for sure (VERY loose!) But if all-out racing is your main concern, you made a very wise choice.

Better bring some traction!

Everything Steve said.

But, unless you plan to run a big gear, stick with the PT-4400.

Are ya'll talking about the Pro Thruster 4600 or the Ultra Thruster? I wouldn't think 200 RPM would that big of a difference between a PT4400 and a PT4600.

The 4600 gets into diminishing returns for motors that turn under 7000 rpms. If your motor is a 6600-6800 rpm type, the PT 4400 would be the better choice. I think Raughammer set all his records with a YPT 4200 if I'm not mistaken.

Hehe.. don't EVEN think about a UT-4600 unless you plan to turn some SERIOUS rpms (7000+). I speak from experience
