Default lock up issue?

ok so my old trans the tcc was slipping i think because of it having a tci stall.. this is in my 98 t/a btw. and i was getting a p1870 code... well a friend of mine had a wrecked 98 z28 with what looks to be a finishline trans and a vig stall. so i installed it in my car and now it has no lock up at all.. so i replaced my lockup soleniod and still nothing.. i know the computer is commanding the function but its not locking up.. any insight??

the 1870 code usually means there is a problem with the valve in the valve body. the valve is usually no good. i know this because i just had this same exact problem. seems weird though that 2 transmissions do the same thing.

Stranger things has happened. Wonder if the ORING could be missing off the shaft on the new trans?
