i really dont mean to hijack, but im in the same boat as the op, and was curious since about 90% of you that have posted here have a th400 or 350, just curious how she does for driving around town, mine is not a daily driver but i do take her out alot in the evening and weekends. just curious. it would probably serve me well for now until i can do the 6l80e. sorry op, just seemed like a good spot for the question.

Personally if I had a cruiser I'd want the 6 speed, which is personal preference but they get awful expensive to maintain once you hit the track. I went over kill on my th400 but now I don't have to worry about it. Everything with the th400 is built stronger. If you hold the input (yolk) for your driveshaft up to a input for the th400 driveshaft you'll see the difference, but with that you add some weight.
I'm with Camaro396 about the higher stall speed. I've got a 3000 in it now and its not nearly enough for my cam. I can't wait to get a 4000 - 4200 in it to pick up a little more.

My car see's street duty a couple times a week and usually all weekend. This includes driving it on the highway at 60 mph to the track which is a 20 minute drive.
