Bad torque converter?

Bad torque converter? well ive looked around the internet for symptoms of why my car keeps stalling when im coming to a stop and i think it might be this. After i drive for a while on the highway and then im coming to a stop the car shifts itself a little hard and shutters and just turns off. sometimes it takes a while to turn back on. also ill be on the highway and i hit the gas to go faster and it dosent respond for about a second and then it goes.And when shifting from park to reverse or drive the car lunges a bit. sound like a bad converter?
