Default 4l80e and th400 questions

Im in the process of going though my 4l80e. Besides some worn clutched Ive found that the front sprag/Clutches/drum/ and planetary housing are shot. Ive heard that the th400 trannys would swap some parts with the 4l80e? is this trus? I have a th400 laying around and could save about 300 bux in parts. BTw the th400 is a 88 or 89 model and the 4l80 is a 92.
Thanks

If you are referring to the over drive planet, OD roller and the over run clutch drum then the parts will not interchange. The only parts that are similar in those units are the two rear planets, center support and the direct drum. Basically the back half of the trans minus the output shaft.
