Default Converter Queston

I've got a 2200-2300 stall converter that I had built for my 4l80e tranny, will that converter work with my 6l80e g8 tranny. I've got it setting here and its never been run since I had it done. If it will work I might just have it put into my g8 before I go to Memphis Super Chevy in the Middle of April.

Sorry, but not interchangeable. GM decided to use different input shaft splines, different stator support splines, different pump gears so the converter hub is different. And there is also about a 3/4" difference in height and they different have bolt patterns.

Having said all that disappointing stuff, we would be happy to sell you a G8 converter. We have numerous stall and durability options. What are you looking for?

Low 2000's is fine, I wouldn't buy until I sold my 4l80e and 2200 stall converter I had built for my truck. (sold my truck)

A low 2000 stall is not a big change on a G8. I would suggest something in the upper 2000 range to see some nice performance gains. The stock stall is rated 1600-1800, so going to a 2200 might not make you happy. We have a 258MM converter that is rated 2800-3000 that is a big seller for the G8's that are still daily drivers and want a little more punch when they get on it. The converter will have excellent street manors, the wife won't even know it is in there.

Here is a nice review one of my customers did on the 258MM converter. Check it out.
