Default LS1/TH400 neutral safety switch

I heard that if you do not hook up the neutral safety switch the engine will not start. Is this true and if so can I use my stock (LT1 body, swapping in LS1/TH400/LS1 pcm) neutral safety switch?

Sorry for being so Thanks for any help/advice.

There are two wires for your neutral safety switch. If the are connected together, the car will start in any gear. If they are not connected, the car will not start in any gear.

Find the wires and connect them to the neutral safety switch on your shifter so that your car only starts in neutral or park. Without neutral safety you will not be able to get a sticker and you will also fail Tech inspection at the track.
