Checking the Tranny Fluid Is it just me or is it hard as hell to tell the fluid level on an LS1. When i pull the dipstick the holes will have a little fluid and the bottom will be red. It seems like every time i pull the dip stick its at a diffrent level. I know I have enough fluid in it but its driving me nuts any ideas or tricks???????
yeah its a bitch man i always worrie about it but u can tell what the levle is if u look where the fluid is at the highest point on the stick where it goes all the way across the dipstick like from one side to the other i dont worrie about the dots just how far up i have a solid line of fluid. maybe theres a better way to explain this but idk lol it is a pain

thats my thing lol... Its a new built tranny and im like worried to death its low but I know its not.... Its just like on my G8 it is on the money none of this guessing stuff.....
Sometimes it is a pain in the butt, but ive found that if its constantly innacurate/or random just add a little bit of fluid. And see how it reacts. As long as you have fluid on both sides of the stick within the operating range your good 
You need to make sure you have a solid line of fluid all the wwway to the top of the crosshatch operating area. A little over is even ok .
And yes they can be a pain to read.
