Default Tranny Problem???

Hey guys my friend drives a 98 camaro and he has this weird problem with something in his drivetrain. He will be driving fine then say he holds it at a certain speed just cruising the rpms will start to fluctuate 200 to 300 rpms. You can hear it and feel it... Is this his transmission? Btw his car is bone stock with a lid and cutout. thanks guys! It has about 80k miles

This is likley the converter locking and unlocking due to engine missfire detection and not a trans/converter issue.

OK so this problem is related to the engine? What should he look at to fix this problem?

Well I would try and tune up. But with mods its also generally better also to raise this missfire tables in tuning.
