DO I need a flexplate??

I have a bolt on ls1 camaro and just ordered a yank 4K stall for my 4l60e. Do I need to upgrade the flexplate and what company model should I go with?. Thanks

I would say no you don't need a new flex plate if your is in good shape. Tci does make one sfi approved...if you want to spend some more money.

dont do it. Your going to have issues with the bolt length.

Yes I would replace it with a sfi unit. Mine was stock and it cracked. They are really weak especially when you start running 1.6-1.7 60's.

If you have the money change it. If not then wait till it breaks. I have run some good times with mine and have over 110k on it works fine.

You just don't use the converter bolts that are short.No big deal,use the stock bolts just cut alittle more than a 1/8" off them.

I have a 4000ss and didnt replace the flywheel. Some say you need to others dont. If its mess up when you drop the transmission then replace.

Just to give you an idea of how strong the stock flywheel is. I broke one converter bolt in half and it was stuck behind the flywheel for more than one day and bent another bolt and my flywheel is still perfect for now
