Default th 400 VSS- what vehicles?

I have a part number for the reluctor ring/sensor so hook up my 400 with the ls1 computer, but dont really want to spend the $180 for the set. Does anyone have a range of vehicles that originally came with this sensor/ring in hopes that I could find one whilst junkyard hunting? i've heard of an 88 sierra. What motor/trans combo would I be looking for? would the 400 be the only trans with this sensor/ring? Thanks! I didnt find what I was looking for in the search

If you have the short th400 with the 32 spline output, it HAS TO have a reluctor wheel off a 32 spline output th400.

If you have the long th400 with the 27 spline output then you can use any reluctor wheel out of a 700R4, 4L60E, 27 spline th400.

Most 3/4 ton and lighter trucks and vans from the mid 80's to late 90's can have any of the above, most cars with the exception of the th400 might have one.

Good luck getting it off in one piece and reuseable condition.

Special puller. I guess you could use a bearing puller with the bolts replaced with long allthread rod.
I've never had the need to remove one and reuse it. I've cut a few off though.
