Unhappy A4 swap it or keep it

aright guys im havin a debate with all my 6 speed buddies and some other cats who think A4s suck when it comes to racing my question to u guys thers this guy down the street from me owns a 98 z28 with a 6 speed he talks all of this lip about my A4 now u guys think a 3200 or 3600+ converter with some rear gears and possibly a cam to go along will take this guy from a dead stop i have all of my suspension mods, exhaust headers cutout, custom tunning , asp pulley, lid, maf, and so on what do u guys think as for him he has exhaust, bolt ons no internals and his cocky a$$ attitude.

my second question is i have thought about swapping to a 6 speed but would u guys stay with the A4 and just have a big converter installed along with the gears and should that shut these 6 speed cats around here up i mean do any of u guys know of A4s smoking 6 speeds from the line so to all u A4 guys help me out any info or stories that will help decide what i should do i really dont mind havin the A4 after all ive surpirsed people as it is now just wonderin what they will say after the converter and gears appreciate it guys

If you are going to drag race. An A4 will usually get an M6 off the line. I can take all my friends with M6's off the line. And beat them in a drag race.

But get a converter. The best mod for an A4.

A4's will eat m6's up off the line if the stall is right, and you have tires that'll hook. I also haven't seen many people who can shift as fast as an auto so you loose less momentum there also.

If I were building a drag race only car, I wouldn't think twice about it. AUTO. Pretty much all of the top running LS1 FBodies are autos with good stalls. For drag racing, NO QUESTION...keep the auto.

It's really tough to beat a good A4 with converter. It's also fun to show 3rd Gen tail lights to most of the 4th Gens around here!

Get the 3500+ TC and good tires and wax them from a dig. Just don't take the bait if they say,"OK, now lets go from a highway roll". Even with a big stall, you'll lose on a "highway" 60 mph roll to a skilled 6spd driver.
