Question TH350- Brake slow to engage
Question TH350- Brake slow to engage I have a freshly built TH350 and the brake seems a little slow to engage. When I mash the transbrake button and release the foot brake, it will want to move about 1 foot before it locks.
Is this normal? Am I just releasing my foot brake to quickly or is this a slow engagement?
It is a JW brake fwiw. Everything else is perfect..

I really want to know as well. My Rossler TH350 does the same thing. Sometimes it rolls 2 feet or more. I haven't tried the TB at the track yet because of this. When the car hooks off of the footbrake it 60's in the mid 1.3's and I would like to improve on that.
I'm considering wiring the linelock on a toggle switch to run with the TB.

How do you have the solenoid wired? Is it through a relay, or is it a direct battery source? The solenoid draws a bit of amperage, so it takes some juice to apply it. I've had to run direct battery voltage to them before.

You need to check the Transbrake valve throw in the unit. This can only be done by pulling the valve body. A line pressure check would not hurt either.On 350's and 400's sometime you have to adjust the throw on the valve. Also you need to make sure that it fits the bore correctly.(not hanging) Make sure that there isn't 2 orings on the solenoid.

I have not checked pressure yet, (don't have gauge..yet) but will. Which port do you recommend to use for checking pressure?

Update: I was having the same issues as posted above. I direct wired the TB power to the battery with a high grade 14 gauge wire. It works flawless now.
