Default 4l60e Help

Well i had the transmission rebuilt by a local transmissions shop about a year ago. I had a 2500 stall and shift kit put in. When got the it back, i noticed it was shifting early. 1st gear will shift way to early. When i put the shifter in first and slam it to the floor it automatically shifted to second around 1500-2500 rpms. It will do this most of the time. Sometimes it will redline. Also If i try to stall it up in 1st, it will not go past 2000 rpms. Is this in the tune or is it mechanical. (i have had the car tuned after i rebuilt the motor and it has not changed at all.

The early shifting I would say is almost certainly a tuning issue of some sort as the trans is completely controlled by the PCM as far as that goes.
It is also normal for the PCM to overide the manual selection of first unless a mod or the TG shift kit is used you will however be able to hold second as long as you like.
As for the stall with a 2500 stall being able to brake stall to 2000 is actually quiet good.
Is the PCM set up correctly for your gears? Speedo correct?

It only stalls to 2000 in first. In drive it will hold to about 3000 on slicks

Well I would hope your tuner is a professional or at least well versed. IMO though there are many variables it is however a tuning issue
