I have an 02 z28 and my shifter has been acting up. when i shift from first gear up to second or from second to drive i push it up and the gear above light will light up but im not in gear i have to push it up and then pull it back down to get it to lock into gear... does anyone know what is going on and how i can fix this? any comments or suggestions are greatly appriciated! Thanks

 

Sounds like a bad shifter cable or prndle switch
