What converter for a 400hp lt1?
Alright, so i am all caught up in this whole converter thing. I have read so many posts that i am royally confused. Here is what my setup will be and what my goals are. The car will be making around 400hp rwp n/a. Currently i have 323 gears and i like them so i don't really want to change. I have not picked a tire size yet either (suggestion welcome with converter). I plan on racing king street at bandimere on friday nights so it needs to be more of a track converter than anything but the car gets a TON of highway/city miles as well. I want to launch hard but not so hard the the rearend goes bang every race (10bolt). I would like to see 12.5's. Also, i am running at 5800 feet elevation if it matters. Thanks guys!

Thunder Racing has a customer with a really hot LT1. They recently swapped converters to a Yank Pro Thruster 4200 and they dropped a great deal of ET and gained mph compared to the brand x converter they were using. Call Geoff at Thunder Racing for all the details.

picking a converter really depends on your powerband not just a hp #...i mean right off the bat you could probably go with a mid 3000 stall and be fine but depending on how high up in the rpms you rpowerband shines will determine what stall you go with.
